History
Knowledge. Experience. Diligence. Professionalism. Those words describe the things that XT Management values. They also set companies apart and provide benchmarks from which results can be judged. XT Management was formed by James Key in October 2006. Since then, the company has had several successful ventures, including project management, ownership, and development in the wireless telecommunications industry. In 2012, and after realizing the tremendous upside potential for leveraging its specialized knowledge, experience, diligence, and professionalism, the company changed direction and started focusing its efforts on the oil and gas industry and the relationships and contacts flowing therefrom. Today, XT Management has contacts and relationships throughout Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and North Dakota, which are utilized to facilitate the meeting of specific needs for technical and non-technical labor, materials, equipment, and specially fabricated items primarily in the oil and gas industry.

James E. Key
James is a founding member of XT Management, LLC. James graduated from Texas Tech University in 1994 and earned a BBA in Accounting (Cum Laude). From there, he attended Texas Christian University and received his MBA (Finance; 1995). James then went to work at Fina Oil & Chemical in Dallas, Texas. James then enrolled in law school and received his Juris Doctor degree from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 1999, graduating with honors (Magna Cum Laude). James clerked at the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth, Texas for the Honorable Justice Dixon W. Holman, going into private law practice afterwards. James has represented both privately held and publicly traded companies in all types of disputes in the oil and gas industry throughout his legal career and as a result, has developed a keen sense of the pitfalls and risks associated with doing business in that sector. In turn, he has observed many of those same companies’ victories and successes and has been instrumental in taking the lead charge forward on many different deals, including frac sand mines in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, joint exploration and development agreements for prospects in the Delaware basin, and pipeline expansion projects throughout the Permian Basin. Through this wealth of knowledge and experience, James has not only developed a vast network of friends, colleagues, and associates, but also a deep and thorough understanding and appreciation of how companies work, how business is generated, and how results are ultimately obtained. James is a Board Certified Oil & Gas Lawyer by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and currently serves on the Council of the Oil, Gas, & Energy Resources Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
